Junior Planner
Location: Dallas

LOPEZGARCIA GROUP is seeking a 2 Junior Planners to support operations in our Dallas office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete planning or transportation-related data reports
- Assist and develop plans and projections of future conditions and trends concerning municipal planning and public transit activities
- Collect technical aspects of public planning and transportation projects
- Assist in development and review of NEPA level document (Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements)
- Assist in development of budgets, schedules and contracts for major projects
- Assist in preparing presentations to clients and community
Minimum Qualifications:
- 0-2 Years of planning experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in planning, transportation, or other closely related field
- Master’s degree and AICP preferred
- Thorough knowledge of transit and transportation planning principles, policies, procedures, regulations, and programs
- Possess strong problem solving skills
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of basic computer applications

Environmental Scientist
Location: Dallas

LOPEZGARCIA GROUP is seeking 2 Environmental Scientist to support operations in our Dallas office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the completion of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments including historical research, interviews, site reconnaissance, report writing and coordination with the client
- Manage the completion of asbestos surveys including collection of samples from “suspect” materials, completion of paperwork and report writing
- Assist with the completion of Lead-based Paint Surveys including collection of paint samples or screening with XRF equipment, completion of paperwork and report writing
- Assist with the completion of Phase II Environmental Site Assessments including the collection of soil and groundwater samples and oversight of drilling contractor (familiarity with sample collection and preservation, chain-of-custody documentation and report preparation is necessary)
- Inspect and evaluate facilities for current compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology or Natural Resources; Masters degree in one of these associated fields is a plus
- Ability to conduct fieldwork and willingness to travel
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills – must be able to interact and coordinate with regulators, clients and sub-consultants
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Experience/TDSHS license as Asbestos Inspector
- 2 years experience conducting multi-media audits (e.g., air quality, waste management, water quality, hazardous materials) or compliance assurance activities (preparing plans, permit applications, etc.)

Senior Transit Planner

Primary Responsibilities:
- Direct and complete transportation-related data reports
- Prepare plans and projections of future conditions and trends concerning public transit activities
- Evaluate technical aspects of transportation projects
- Supervise and/or coordinate projects by managing efforts of subordinates or peers
- Evaluate aspects of transit projects involving various modes
- Prepare budgets, schedules and contracts for major projects
- Present to clients and community
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of transit planning experience (4+ in a project management role)
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Transportation, Public Administration or other closely related field
- Master's degree and AICP preferred
- Thorough knowledge of transit and transportation planning principles, policies, procedures, regulations and programs
- Knowledge of transit modeling software beneficial
- Possess strong problem solving skills
- Good interpersonal communication skills
