Civil Engineer

Location: Fort Worth
Division: Municipal Site Development Civil

LOPEZGARCIA GROUP is seeking a Civil Engineer to support operations in our Fort Worth office. The desired applicant will have a Texas PE license, with at least 5-7 years experience in civil design including site layout, site grading, storm water runoff, water & sewer design and profiles, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and roadway plans and profiles.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for areas of design to include land planning, roads, storm drainage, utilities, site grading, soil erosion and sediment controls, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and storm water managements plans.
  • Responsible for civil engineering design, evaluation and implementation for a wide array of civil infrastructure projects
  • Assisting clients with timeline schedules and the plan approval/permit process with state and various local agencies
  • May include monitoring change orders and consultation with architects, engineers, contractors, etc.
  • Client contact and county and local board presentations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering from an accredited civil engineering program
  • PE license with 5-7 years of experience in municipal and site design which include: Hydrology and Hydraulic Modeling, Municipal Street Design, Sewer Collection Systems, Water Distribution Systems, Grading and Drainage Storm Drains
  • 5+ yrs experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Dallas

Qualified candidate must have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, PE license and 10+ years of experience. Applicant should have considerable experience in the design of educational facilities, commercial office buildings, industrial buildings, municipal facilities and central chilled water and heating plants.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • HVAC systems to include chilled/hot water and DX systems, cooling/and heating load calculations, duct sizing, equipment selection, controls, life cycle costing, specification writing, and cost estimating.

Asbestos Inspector

Location: DFW Airport Office

The duties of this position will include: performing asbestos building inspections, supervision of asbestos abatement contractors, collection of asbestos air samples, and the onsite analysis of asbestos air sample cassettes. Additional job functions may include performing general industrial hygiene and environmental field work (air/soil/water sampling, oversight of subcontractors, and health and safety monitoring activities) and assisting in the preparation of technical reports (Phase I and II ESAs, quarterly regulatory reports, and closure reports).

Quality Assurance Inspector

Location: Offsite

LOPEZGARCIA GROUP is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to support operations in our offsite office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Resident Construction Manager (RCM) and Field Engineer (FE) with on-site quality assurance monitoring of contractor facilities/structures work, to ensure the contractor’s Quality Control program achieves quality standards established by DART or other jurisdictional agencies
  • Monitors quality control testing by the contractor to ensure that contract requirements are achieved
  • Advises the RCM or FE of potential or noted problems in the construction of project facilities/structures, including survey, earthwork, drainage, utilities, soil treatments, roadbeds and guideways, concrete, pavement, stormwater control, building construction, architectural finishes, and traffic control. Will also include reinforced concrete and steel bridges; drill shafts; steel piling; welding; and structural steel fabrication and installation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification and experience in quality control and quality assurance procedures
  • Experience in reinforced concrete pavement, walls, and piers; earthwork, to include excavation and embankments; soil treatments, to include lime and cement-treated subgrade; drainage structures; building construction, to include roofing systems, seals, and sealants; metal fabrications and sheet metal; painting; and architectural finishes.

Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Dallas

Primary Responsibilities:
